AROUND THE WORLD NATIONS CELEBRATES THE END OF WW2 AFTER 70 YEARS FROM RUSSIA OVER NAZISM TO TAIWAN, AND KOREA AS CHINA TOO CELEBRATES ITS FREEDOM FROM EMPERIAL JAPAN IN 1945 WITH ITS OWN DISPLAY OF NATIONAL PRIDE WITH MILITARY PROWESS FROM MISSILES DF-21D AIRCRAFT CARRIER KILLER, TANKS 99A2, JET FIGHTERS J-10, WITH 12,000 TROOPS FROM ITS 2 MILLION STRONG ARMY THIS 2015

China showed off a new missile reportedly capable of destroying an aircraft carrier on Thursday as it flexed its military muscle with a huge parade marking 70 years since the defeat of Japan in World War Two.
The parade, which was shunned by most Western leaders, witnessed 12,000 troops file past President Xi Jinping, along with formations of tanks and armoured vehicles as warplanes screamed overhead.
The show of strength saw the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) unveil some of its newest hardware, including the DF-21D missile, described as a "trump card" by a commentator on Chinese state television.
Dubbed the 'carrier-killer', the DF-21D goes into orbit like an intercontinental ballistic missile but upon re-entering the atmosphere employs guidance systems that give it the unprecedented ability to attack a moving target, such as a carrier group at sea.
Western defence analysts say it could travel at up to 10 times the speed of sound - faster than anything that could be deployed to intercept it - and estimate it has a range of up to 1000 miles.
"There's no doubt that it will be a game changer" if it performs as claimed, Jon Grevatt, Asia-Pacific defence analyst at IHS Jane's, told AFP.
