US CEO SALARIES VERSUS KOREAN CEO SALARIES FROM 2014

Among the U.S. companies, 200 executives were paid more than $2 million annually. Their pay packages included not only monthly salaries, but bonuses and stock options as well.
Out of the 200, the average pay package of the highest-paid 20 executives reached $22.71 million.
Back in Korea, the highest-paid 20 executives out of the 640 who were obligated to reveal their salaries were found to be receiving an average 8.44 billion won.
This shows that the U.S. executives were paid about three times the amount of their Korean counterparts.
But a closer look revealed lesser-known factors that can tip the scale.
The most significant fact is that the U.S. salaries were based mainly on performance, so that they received bonuses or stock options that at times were up to 10 times their basic salary.
As a result, the basic salaries of the executives at the 202 U.S. companies reached only about an average $1.16 million per person.
In Korea, the 640 executives were receiving a similar amount of 1.3 billion won per executive.
The difference was in the basic salary. In Korea, there were few whose bonuses and stock options surpassed their basic salary. At most, it was about twice the amount. Only the Samsung Electronics executives were found to be receiving bonuses three or four times larger than their basic salaries.

IN POLITICS WHEN YOU HAVE THE POWER DOES IT MEAN YOU CAN DO AS YOU PLEASE–CASE IN POINT SENATOR “DIRTY” HARRY REID (D-NV)–THE BLM GROUP USED TO GIVE AWAY FEDERAL LAND FOR CHINESE SOLAR PANEL–THE LEFTIST BANNER FOR ENERGY CREATION–A WIN WIN FOR SENATOR HARRY REIDS 6 DEGREE OF SEPARATION SURROUNDING GROUP INCLUDES HIS SON WHILST SUBVERTING CONSERVATIVE GROUPS

Is it just me?

Harry Reid goes to China for some obscure reason. The place has an ancient culture and beautiful landscape (for instance ...those strange rocky and emerald green islands that jut out of the sea just off the mainland coast). There is incredible architecture...not even counting the Really Big Wall that makes Hadrian look like a pansy. But I don't see Harry as an art lover. I can't see him swooning over the work of Chinese artists and artisans. Nevertheless, he was there, for whatever vague reason.

A short time afterward, some big Chi-comm "green energy" outfit contacts the law firm where Harry's son is employed and retains the firm to perform ...who knows ... some obscure legal tasks. Eventually, the firm is assisting the Chi-commGreenies in acquiring a large tract of land in the Nevada desert (thereby, apparently, dispossessing large numbers of desert tortoises) for the purpose of locating those big ugly mirrors, which harvest sunlight. Or whatever they do.

(Note: Some guy who lives nearby my humble abode was developing a construction project and accidentally squashed one of those same tortoises. He was fined $30,000.)

Anyway...Billions of dollars are in play. Any attorney knows this means Harry's son gets to move into a terrific corner office in the firm. That's how things work in the legal world. And that's only one of the benefits.

Somewhere during this timeline, which started with Harry's China trip, Harry sics the BLM Boys on Rancher Bundy in an obscene and painfully transparent land-grab to dispossess the peaceful inhabitants of Turtle Town. Not to mention Rancher Bundy and his cattle. The details are murky (and I hope they are untrue, because it is so very tawdry and sad), but the Bundy land or leasehold is just what the Chi-comms were lookin' for.

Somewhere, also on this strange time-line, Harry tells us he and his son never have discussed the desert land deal or the Chi-comm Greenie Company. Or the billions of dollars in play. Nor do they, apparently, discuss the incredible series of events and the astronomically unlikely chance these things were all coincidental and just happened!

OK.

SEWOL FERRY TRAGEDY OF SOUTH KOREA WE GRIEVE FOR THE YOUNG

YELLOW RIBBON TRIBUTE:

The mother of the 5-year-old girl rescued alone from the Sewol ferry was found Thursday, adding yet another heartbreaking story to the tragedy.
The story of the little girl’s rescue has been tugging at the heartstrings of people across the world since the ship sank off the country’s southeastern coast of April 16.
Kwon was on her way to her parent’s tangerine farm on Jejudo Island with her 6-year-old brother. The two little Kwons were playing away from their parents when the vessel began to list. As the ship continued to list and sink, her brother gave her his life vest and went to look for their parents.
That was the last anyone saw or heard of her family, until today, when the body of her mother ― a 26-year-old identified as Han ― was recovered. Her brother and 52-year-old father are among the 131 people still unaccounted for.
Fortunately, Kwon was found by Park Ho-jin, one of the 75 Danwon High School students to reach safety, as he was about to jump for a lifeboat.
Park, who has since been lauded as one of Sewol’s heroes, grabbed Kwon off the deck and only let go of her once he was safely on land.

I JUST THINK THIS BEAUTIFUL SONG “IT’S YOU” SANG BY EUNJI APINK CAN BE A TRIBUTE FOR SEWOL

Though my heart aches, it’s you
The precious love in my earnest heart

Because my heart hurts, because tears are falling
Like a wilted flower in the wind
Like the stars hiding behind the silently floating clouds
I carefully look back at the memories

In my aching heart, in this difficult love, flickering in the cruel time
In case my sad love that only looked at you gets buried in sadness

Even if the wind blows, don’t be sad
Love is buried in my heart like it’ll easily explode
Even if we’re far apart, we have the same memories
My teary love

In my aching heart, in this difficult love, flickering in the cruel time
In case my sad love that only looked at you gets buried in sadness

Even if the wind blows, don’t be sad
Love is buried in my heart like it’ll easily explode
Even if we’re far apart, we have the same memories
My teary love

Are you filled with the cold memories?
Crying, as you keep thinking about it alone?

Though my heart aches, it’s you
The precious love in my earnest heart
Though tears are falling, like the small stars during the long night
My love protects me

barrel of oil reaches $104, staying over $100 in 2014

Gas prices climbed past the $4 threshold in the Sacramento region. The average price of a gallon of regular gas is $4.049, compared to $3.976 a week ago, according to the AAA Fuel Gauge Report.

That’s an increase of 7.3 cents, and 21.9 cents more than last month. A year ago, gas cost $3.839. The record high for gas was $4.573 in June 2008.

Why so high? California refineries start switching to a more expensive blend of fuel for summer,  according to the Los Angeles Times. Problems with maintenance at the refineries have also hurt prices. Plus we had a holiday weekend.

Gas prices in Sacramento are still 16.7 cents less than the state average of $4.216. The national average is $3.669, which is 3.1 cents less than last week’s $3.638. A year ago, the national average was $3.517.

AAA issues daily averages for metropolitan areas across the country, based on its survey of credit-card purchases at self-serve stations.

THE RUSSIA ARMY ON THE BORDER OF UKRAINE IS WEARING BODY ARMOR AWAITING AN INVASION ENTRY AFTER CRIMEA WAS THE SAME INVADED A MONTH AGO

Elite Russian troops are displaying a new arsenal of body armor, individual weapons, armor-piercing ammunition and collar radios — a menu of essential gear that gives them a big tactical advantage against a lesser-equipped Ukrainian army.

If President Vladimir Putin orders an invasion, the new-generation body armor, in particular, would provide exceptional protection against small arms if Russian troops go street by street to capture Kiev and other cities.“What we saw and what was dangled in front of the West was a clear indication that Putin is on a roll,” retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Robert Scales said. “It just seems to me from watching the films that their arrows are pointing up and ours are sadly pointing down.”

Weapons specialists such as Gen. Scales have been studying images of Spetsnaz, Russia’s ubiquitous special forces, and airborne troops since they conquered the Crimea region and mobilized to strike eastern Ukraine.

JUST ANOTHER DEMOCRAT RICHARD BLUMENTHAL (D-CONN) IGNORING RULES AND REGULATIONS–ALMOST GETS HIT BY TRAIN

The senator, speaking at a conference aimed at increasing commuter safety, can be seen on video violating a key safety rule: standing over the yellow warning strip.

According to the MTA, “Standing on or at the yellow platform edge strip is dangerous.” In an effort to increase awareness, the transit authority has posted this safety message throughout the Subway system, warning that 141 individuals were struck by trains in 2012.

To add to the irony, Milford Mayor Ben Blake quipped that “safety, as you know, is paramount” as the train went by.

GLOBAL INVESTMENT IN MILITARY SPENDING FOR 2013 DROPS FROM THE US, CHINA, RUSSIA,SAUDIA ARABIA, FRANCE, UK, GERMANY, JAPAN, INDIA, AND SOUTH KOREA 한글

Global arms investment in 2013 fell by 1.9 percent from the year before, mainly due to a sharp drop in military spending by the United States, a Swedish arms watchdog said Monday.
According to the annual report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, countries worldwide spent $1.7 trillion on boosting their militaries. The annual budget of the U.S. came first with $640 billion, but was 7.8 percent less than the year before.
With the exception of the U.S., however, the world saw a 1.8 percent increase in military expenditure. China was the second-biggest arms spender with $188 billion, while Russia, in third place, boosted its budget 4.8 percent to $87.8 billion.
South Korea was the 10th largest spender with $33.9 billion, which accounted for 2.8 percent of its gross domestic production.
