"... It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, and fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country. Should I keep back my opinions at such a time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards my country, and of an act of disloyalty toward the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings."....I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death!"

Tired of those unsightly smudges and other dirt on your bacteria-laden smartphone?
A Japanese firm says it has the solution with what it describes as the world's first smartphone that can be washed with soap and water.
Waterproof smartphones have been on the market for a while. But telecom company KDDI says its new "Digno rafre" phone - to be launched in Japan next week - is the only one that can withstand a soapy bath.

The launch of Orbital ATK’s Cygnus cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station has moved to Sunday at 4:44 p.m. EST, the start of a 30-minute launch window for the uncrewed spacecraft to begin it mission. Countdown and launch coverage will begin here on the NASA Blog and on NASA TV at 3:45 p.m.
Saturday’s attempt was called off because of high winds that were expected to violate launch criteria throughout the 30-minute launch window. The weather forecast for Sunday improved to a 40 percent chance of acceptable conditions at launch time.

Americans used to laugh at the bereted Iraqi Information Minister screaming, “I triple guarantee you, there are no American soldiers in Baghdad”, even while they could be seen moving into the city.
Now Baghdad Bob’s rhetoric has been transplanted over from Baghdad to Washington D.C.
Last year, Obama said, “I want to be clear: the American forces that have been deployed to Iraq do not and will not have a combat mission.” A good way to get stinking drunk is to drink a shot every time Obama precedes a blatant lie with an “I want to be clear.” And this time was no different.
The year before that he told the American people, “I will not put American boots on the ground in Syria.”
No word on whether soldiers in the "Specialized Expeditionary Targeting Force" will be wearing sandals or slippers as they carry out raids into Syria to free hostages and capture ISIS terrorists.
Obama had assured Americans that the mission “will not involve American combat troops fighting on foreign soil.” Did he annex Syria and Iraq as new states while Congress was in recess?
Not to be outdone, Hillary Clinton recently said that putting troops on the ground is a “non-starter”. She told CBS that she “cannot conceive of any circumstances where I would agree to do that.” Then she condemned Republicans for calling for “thousands of combat troops”.
As opposed to the 3,000 that were sent there under Obama.
But officially there are no American soldiers in Iraq. There are American advisers in Iraq. Democrats send thousands of heavily armed advisers. It’s the Republicans who are crude enough to send soldiers. Republicans start wars. Democrats have police actions, peacekeeping missions and weekend retreats.

Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) says Republicans are increasing the odds of another terrorist attack on American soil by blocking legislation aimed at taking guns out of the hands of citizens suspected of holding terrorist sympathies.
“By blocking efforts to give law enforcement the tools they need to keep guns out of the hands of FBI terror suspects, Republicans are leaving every American community vulnerable to an attack by terrorists armed with assault weapons – just like the attacks we saw in Paris and San Bernardino,” Reid said in a statement Saturday.
“Republicans should be ashamed of themselves and their cowardice,” he added.
Senate Republicans on Thursday blocked an amendment to the ObamaCare repeal bill that would have blocked people on the no-fly list from being allowed to purchase guns.
Conservatives feared the amendment would strip Americans of their due process rights.
But Reid said the senators denied “law enforcement officials the tools they need to immediately bar FBI terror suspects from purchasing a gun – even after a suspect pledges allegiance to ISIS and even after the FBI knows the suspect intends to use the firearms to commit a terrorist act.”
The FBI is notified when a firearms or explosives background check involves someone on the terrorist watch-list.
Authorities said one of the suspects in Wednesday’s San Bernardino, Calif., shooting pledged her allegiance to the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) during the attack.
The alleged assailants used .223-caliber semiautomatic weapons in the attack that were originally purchased legally, but unlawfully altered to be more lethal, according to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Fourteen people were killed and 21 injured when the gunmen stormed the Inland Regional Center, which provides social services to those with developmental disabilities.
It came down to the addition of a single word for the a tree lighting ceremony, but that word carried enough significance for borough Councilwoman Charlene Storey to resign.
Minutes after the council voted 4-2 Thursday night to change the name of the ceremony from A Tree Lighting to A Christmas Tree Lighting, the councilwoman-at-large, left the meeting. She later submitted her letter of resignation with the municipal clerk's office.
"I cannot in good conscience continue to be part of a council that is exclusionary or to work with a Mayor who is such," Storey said in her letter.
When reached today, Storey said she regretted having to resign, but said the change "cuts non-Christians out of the loop and favors one religion."
Storey, who was raised Catholic but is now a "non-believer" and has never hidden that fact, said the issue is a matter of principle.
Changing the ceremony, she said, "turned it from a non-religious event to a religious one."

President Obama’s opening remarks at the Paris climate agreement were effectively an apology for industrial progress. At the kickoff of the talks, Obama remarked, “I’ve come here personally, as the leader of the world’s largest economy and the second-largest emitter, to say that the United States of America not only recognizes our role in creating this problem; we embrace our responsibility to do something about it.”
Obama should not be apologizing for the economic growth that dramatically improved Americans’ and much of the world’s quality of life. Instead, the president should apologize for pushing costly and ineffective climate policies that will make us worse off and trap the world’s poorest citizens in poverty.

It was a typical Saturday in Oradour-sur-Glane when soldiers from the German 2nd SS Panzer Division arrived outside the village on June 10, 1944. Days earlier, Allied troops had landed on the beaches of Normandy four hours to the north in a massive invasion that was a major turning point in World War II.
For reasons still unclear more than 70 years later, the soldiers surrounded the village, marched the women and children into a church and forced the men into garages and barns. The men were shot. The woman and children suffocated or were burned to death when the church was set aflame. In all, 642 people died, including 247 children. Only six survived to tell the tale of the largest Nazi massacre of civilians ever committed on French soil…….
……In an ironic twist of fate, most of the 200 SS soldiers believed to have participated in the rampage that day died within months as well, all killed in battle. Of the few who survived the battlefield, only 20 were ever found guilty. All were released from prison within five years.
Despite their convictions — and all the documents, interviews and confessions gathered about Oradour-sur-Glane in the 70 years since the bloodbath — the reason for the Nazi massacre remains unclear. One historical account states that the massacre was in retaliation for the murder of a German officer killed by the French Resistance. Another claims the Nazis were looking for a kidnapped military official when they herded villagers to the fairgrounds and told them the soldiers were there to search for weapons and other contraband. Still another theory states that the Germans came to recover some stolen gold seized by French rebels just days before. Or they could have mistaken the village for another town nearby. Whatever the reason for the soldiers’ appearance, there is little to explain why they turned on the villagers so ruthlessly and without provocation.
Samsung Electronics Co. agreed to pay Apple Inc. the $548 million a court ordered but that doesn’t mean they’ve come to a final resolution of their long-running patent battle over smartphones.
Samsung said in a court filing Thursday that it’s only paying the money because an appeals court refused to block a judgment ordering it to pay.
The South Korean device maker said it will pursue reimbursement for at least some of the money if the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office invalidates the patents and if the U.S. Supreme Court takes up its request for review.
It’s been almost five years since Apple first accused Samsung of “slavishly” copying the iPhone, setting off a global patent battle that has shrunk in size but not in vitriol. The two tech behemoths have dropped all non-U.S. cases, leaving two main disputes that still have a way to go in court.
“I don’t think it’s over, but hopefully we’re getting close,” said Robert Stoll, a patent lawyer with Drinker Biddle in Washington who isn’t involved in the case. “They’ve got to learn to coexist in some shape or form. This has been a very painful thing for the entire industry.”
The $548 million is part of a case that dealt primarily with Apple’s designs for the iPhone, as well as its “pinch-to-zoom” technology. The patent on the invention has been invalidated by the PTO, and Apple is challenging that decision.
Five young Middle Eastern men were apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol this week in an Arizona town situated about 30 miles from the Mexican border, law enforcement and other sources told Judicial Watch.
Border Patrol agents spotted the men crossing a ranch property in the vicinity of Amado, which is located about 35 miles south of Tucson and has a population of 275. Two of the Middle Eastern men were carrying stainless steel cylinders in backpacks, JW’s sources say, alarming Border Patrol officials enough to call the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for backup. A multitude of federal agents descended on the property and the two men carrying the cylinders were believed to be taken into custody by the FBI.
Only three of the men’s names were entered in the Border Patrol’s E3 reporting system, which is used by the agency to track apprehensions, detention hearings and removals of illegal immigrants. E3 also collects and transmits biographic and biometric data including fingerprints for identification and verification of individuals encountered at the border. The other two men were listed as “unknown subjects,” which is unheard of, according to a JW federal law enforcement source. “In all my years I’ve never seen that before,” a veteran federal law enforcement agent told JW.
The disturbing incident comes just days after six men—one from Afghanistan, five from Pakistan—were arrested in nearby Patagonia, a quaint ranch town that sits 20 miles north of the Mexican border city of Nogales. Federal authorities have confirmed the November 17 arrests and a local news outlet published a story that includes an official statement from the Border Patrol. Special Agent Kurt Remus in the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Phoenix headquarters told JW that the agency’s Joint Terrorism Task Forces vetted and interviewed the six men and determined that there were “no obvious signs of terrorism” so they were returned to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody.
However, Special Agent Remus told JW that there is no record of this week’s incident in Amado and that he knew nothing about it. JW also put in a call to DHS headquarters, but received no response. In the last year JW has broken a number of stories involving serious terrorist threats on the southern border that were disputed on the record by various Obama administration officials. Among these is an April report—confirmed by high-level Mexican authorities—about ISIS operating camps near the U.S. border in areas known as Anapra and Puerto Palomas west of Ciudad Juárez in the Mexican state of Chihuahua.
Last fall JW was the first to report on an Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) plot orchestrated from Ciudad Juárez to attack the U.S. with car bombs or other vehicle borne improvised explosive devices (VBIED). As a result of JW’s reporting Ft. Bliss, the U.S. Army base in El Paso, increased security. The threat was imminent enough to place agents across a number of Homeland Security, Justice and Defense agencies on alert. A few weeks later JW reported that four ISIS terrorists were arrested by federal authorities and the Texas Department of Public Safety in McAllen and Pharr.
Data analysts Nomura Research Institute (NRI), led by researcher Yumi Wakao, figure that within the next 20 years, nearly half of all jobs in Japan could be accomplished by robots. Working with Professor Michael Osborne from Oxford University, who had previously investigated the same matter in both the US and UK, the NRI team examined more than 600 jobs and found that "up to 49 percent of jobs could be replaced by computer systems," according to Wakao.

On Tuesday, the Russian military produced an impressive array of evidence that clearly shows that ISIS oil is being smuggled into Turkey on an industrial scale. The evidence included photographs taken by satellite and during aerial reconnaissance missions. What the Russians have shown the world is extremely compelling, and it raises some very disturbing questions. First of all, how involved is the Turkish government in all of this? There is no way in the world that an endless parade of trucks carrying ISIS oil could have marched through Turkish border checkpoints without the cooperation of the central government. Secondly, what did Obama know and when did he know it? The U.S. military has far better surveillance capabilities than the Russians do, and so it seems absolutely absurd to suggest that Obama didn’t know what was going on.
This new Russian evidence was presented to the world by Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov, and he says that “thousands of oil trucks” have been going back and forth over the Turkish border…
……And he is right.
The Erdogan family is knee deep in this scandal, and Barack Obama has known about it the entire time. For much more on the involvement of the Erdogan family in the smuggling of ISIS oil, please see my previous article entitled “The Biggest Obama Scandal? He Knows That Turkey Is Buying Oil From ISIS And He Is Doing Nothing To Stop It“.
During his presentation, Antonov gave us a lot of specifics. He even claimed that the Russians know precisely where much of this stolen oil ends up. The following comes from an Infowars report…
Criminologist Casey Jordan told CNN’s Don Lemon that one of the motivations behind Muslim gunman Sayed Farook’s massacre of 14 people in San Bernardino on Wednesday may have been the fact that he was offended by a Christmas party.
“The key is that from the beginning everything that was reported about him, going into this conference room where there was a holiday party which may have been offensive to him,” said Jordan.
She went on to suggest that Farook’s motive may have been a personal grudge and that his actions were deliberately planned so as to make it look like terrorism, although the notion that Farook kept 6000 bullets & a bomb making factory on standby simply to deal with a “grudge” is somewhat of a stretch.

Congressional Republicans were poised Thursday to notch the grandaddy of all conservative wins — passage of a bill that would deliver a “mortal wound” to Obamacare.
Though destined for a swift veto, the GOP views the fast-track process as a test run for the real thing in 2017, when it hopes to scrap the health law with a Republican president and a slim majority in the Senate.
Party leaders also said the bill, while doomed, fulfills a promise they made to voters who handed them control of Capitol Hill in last year’s mid-term elections.

…….Woods is also still very devoted to golf, and his goal of reaching Jack Nickalus' record of 18 majors, four more than he currently has.
Shockingly however, Woods said he does not enjoy watching golf very often and is not close to many of the players save Australian Jason Day.
He still has the hunger and belief that he can once again be the best in the world. Unless, however, that requires more surgery and risks his time with his children.
'If I can only do one, it wouldn’t be golf. It would be my kids. That’s still a win-win,' said Woods.
ISIS militants have posted a new video showing child soldiers being forced to carry out a sickening game of hide and seek in which they have to find and execute a prisoner inside an ancient castle.
Filmed in a remote part of Deir ezzor province in Syria, the sickening video shows six recruits running through an historic ruins searching for the hidden prisoners.
With their hands tied behind their back, the captives are forced to wait as the young children, who appear to be no older than eight, use a pistol to kill them at close range.
The Obama Administration is planning an end run around the U.S. Senate in regard to a major international climate change agreement—the Paris Protocol—that will be negotiated between November 30 and December 11 at the 21st annual session of the Conference of Parties (COP 21) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). The Administration’s plans to avoid Senate scrutiny of the protocol should come as no surprise. During a March 31, 2015, press briefing, White House spokesman Josh Earnest was asked whether Congress has the right to approve the protocol:
Hanna Bohman has been fighting ISIS in Syria on and off for most of 2015, and she hasn’t been impressed.
She said that as fighters, the Islamic State militants have “mostly been a disappointment.”
“Their numbers don’t seem that big and they’re eager to run away,” she told INSIDER in an email. “I suspect most of the experienced fighters have been consolidated in Mosul and Raqqa, and that’s where the big fights will be.”
She said that ISIS has successfully made themselves seem bigger and scarier than they are in reality through social media.
Although the group recently claimed responsibility for terrorist attacks that killed hundreds in Paris, Beirut, Baghdad, and Ankara and over the Sinai Peninsula, its promise of statehood is quickly diminishing, The New York Times reports.
“They’re not some giant, holy juggernaut of ultimate damnation for unbelievers,” she said. “They’re just a bunch of filthy, mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging pigs who run away at the first sign of resistance. Really nothing more than a thorn in the side.”

A former Canadian model who’s also known as Tiger Sun, Bohman, 46, is one of dozens of Westerners who have joined up with Kurdish nationalist groups to fight the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. She was personally inspired to fight after watching an ISIS propaganda video featuring a Canadian who had gone to fight with the jihadists, she told the Daily Mail.
After recovering from a near-fatal motorcycle accident last year, Bohman, who had no prior combat experience, left Vancouver for Iraq in March. She joined up with the YPJ, the female fighting battalion of the People’s Protection Unit, a Kurdish nationalist fighting force.
The US military will open up all positions – including front-line combat roles – to women, Defence Secretary Ashton Carter announced Thursday in a sweeping move that ends centuries of men-only tradition.
The historic step trumps a Marine Corps call for a partial exemption after it claimed mixed-gender combat units were not as effective as male groups.
“There will be no exceptions,” Carter said.
While acknowledging that, on average, physical differences exist between sexes, Carter said plenty of women can meet the military’s rigorous physical standards for combat roles – just as there are some men who cannot.
“As long as they qualify and meet the standards, women will ... be allowed to drive tanks, fire mortars, and lead infantry soldiers into combat,” Carter said.
White House officials are seeking a way to use executive authority to close the so-called gun show loophole that allows thousands of people to buy firearms each year without a background check, but complicated legal issues have slowed the process.
Almost three years ago, after the killing of 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook elementary school in Connecticut, President Obama asked Congress to change the law to require background checks for weapons sold outside the network of licensed gun dealers, including sales at gun shows or through the Internet. A bill to tighten the background system died in the Senate a few months later – dashing administration hopes for legislative action.

The California massacre on Wednesday was carried out by a devout Muslim with an “IED factory” in his garage, but President Obama still thinks an Islamic terrorism designation is premature.
Details that have emerged since Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and his wife Tashfeen Malik, 27, killed 14 at a social services center in San Bernardino indicate the couple were Islamic radicals with a death wish. The two, who originally met online, had recently traveled to Saudi Arabia.
Law enforcement sources told CNN since the attack that Farook was in touch with terrorism suspects being investigated by the FBI.
Farook, who worked for the county health department, used multiple rifles, body armor and home-made explosives to kill his victims inside the Inland Regional Center. His getaway vehicle was rented days in advance, and yet Obama is reticent to call the attack terrorism.
“At this stage, we do not yet know why this terrible event occurred. We’ll get to the bottom of this and be vigilant getting the facts before we issue decisive judgments on how this occurred,” Obama said Thursday during an address from the White House.
