THE LITTLE KNOWN ALASKA INTERNMENT CAMP DURING WW2 AFTER THE IMPERIAL JAPAN ATTACK ON PEARL HARBOR 104 JAPANESE AND GERMAN NATIONALS INTERNED IN ANCHORAGE WHERE TO FOLLOW EVENTUALLY 120,000 JAPANESE AMERICANS INTERNED IN THE WESTERN STATES UNDER THE POTUS FDR EXECUTIVE ORDER 9066

Alice Tanaka Hikido clearly remembers the bewilderment and sense of violation she felt 74 years ago when FBI agents rifled through her family's Juneau home, then arrested her father before he was sent to Japanese internment camps, including a little-known camp in pre-statehood Alaska.
The 83-year-old Campbell, California, woman recently attended a ceremony where participants unveiled a study of the short-lived internment camp at what is now Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage.
Archaeologists working on the research used old records to pinpoint the camp location in an area now partially covered by a parking lot. The Army study is expected to be finalized later this year.
"As I look back, I had no idea as a child that the U.S. and Japan were having difficulties," Hikido said. "It was a tremendous surprise to me."
Hikido herself was interned at Idaho's Minidoka camp with her mother, younger sister and two brothers a few months after her father's arrest during one of the nation's darkest chapters — the forced incarceration of tens of thousands people of Japanese ancestry, including Americans, during World War II.
Her father eventually joined his family in Idaho in 1944. They spent more than a year there together before the war ended and they returned to Juneau.
Her father, Shonosuke Tanaka, was among 15 Japanese nationals and two German nationals who were rounded up in the Territory of Alaska almost immediately after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor.
That number would grow to 104 foreign nationals, mostly Japanese, who were arrested in Alaska as alien enemies. An estimated 145 others, including some Alaska Natives who took Japanese names in marriage, also would be sent to internment camps outside the territory under Executive Order 9066, which launched the exile of about 120,000 Japanese-Americans.

Hecklers were thrown out of a campaign rally Friday after shouting questions about Benghazi at former President Bill Clinton.
A video of the incident shows a man standing in the crowd introducing himself as a Marine and detailing his service record. As he spoke about the Veterans Administration, Clinton tried to interrupt and ask, "What do you think should be done about the VA?"

The man then pivoted to Benghazi.
"And the thing is, we had four lives in Benghazi that were killed and your wife tried to cover it up," he said, drawing loud groans and boos from the rest of the crowd that drowned him out.
The man continued to talk about his record in the military as a drill instructor. Clinton replied "Thank you for your service," trying to interrupt.
"OK now can I answer?" Clinton asked, as the man continued uninterrupted.
"This is America, I get to answer," he added as the crowd again tried to drown the heckler out with applause and shouting.
"I'm not your commmander in chief anymore, but if I were, I'd tell you to be more polite," Clinton quipped.
"And I wouldn't listen," the man shouted back as police officers began to escort him out.
"If you'll shut up and listen, I'll answer," Clinton said. "That's whats wrong, his mind has been poisoned by lies and he won't listen."
A woman filming the incident on what appears to be a cell phone then began to shout at Clinton as well.

THE DEMOCRAT POTUS BHO HAS UNTIL 2016 TO CLOSE GITMO UNDER HIS GIVEAWAY PLAN TO SECEDE GUANTANAMO BACK TO THE COMMUNIST CASTRO CUBA - THE ONLY FREE STANDING LAND IN CUBA TO BE GIVEN BACK TO THE CASTRO AS JOHN KERRY (D-MA) CONTINUES HIS SOS DIPLOMACY OF GIVEAWAY THE LEFTIST STYLE OF SURRENDER AT ALL COST VIETNAM STYLE

News reports that former Gitmo detainee Ibrahim al Qosi has rejoined al Qaeda has Secretary of State John Kerry in a snit. "We had an agreement with him that he was not supposed to do that," Kerry complained.
Kerry's remarks in testimony before the State, Foreign Operations, and Related Programs Subcommittee of the Senate Appropriations Committee left no doubt that he was mightily peeved. "We go to great care in drafting the papers detainees must sign before we let them out of prison," Kerry said. "Contractually, I think these signed agreements are airtight. I believe we will have a strong case for a breach-of-contract lawsuit against this man."
"You know, part of the problem may have been that he was released to Somalia," Kerry observed. "If it weren't for Congressional opposition we could have released him in the United States as President Obama wanted to do. So, in a way, Congress is just as much at fault for al Qosi's return to terrorist activities as anyone."
The Secretary used this incident as an opening argument for the President's proposal to close the Gitmo facility and bring any remaining detainees to the United States. "This US military prison on the Island of Cuba is an impediment to improving relations with the Castro Government," Kerry lamented. "Shutting it down and ceding the land back to Cuba would be a major step for our country in atonement for the damage we have done to the Cuban Government over the last 50 years. The President has graciously given Congress the opportunity to participate in this historic rapprochement. I urge them to grasp this opportunity or risk missing the boat if he has to go it alone."

THE US SENDS A STRONG MESSAGE EVERY YEAR BY EXERCISING THE LAUNCH OF ICBM INTO THE PACIFIC FOR TESTING ACCURACY AND VIABILITY THAT THE COLD WAR ERA MISSILES AND ITS CREW ARE CAPABLE OF PERFORMING THE TASK OF NUCLEAR WAR TO DEFEND THE US INTEREST AND SOVEREIGNTY - AS THE POTUS BHO ADDS FUNDING TO UPGRADE THE NUCLEAR CAPABILITY TO THE TUNE OF $19 BILLION

The U.S. military test-fired its second intercontinental ballistic missile in a week on Thursday night, seeking to demonstrate its nuclear arms capacity at a time of rising strategic tensions with Russia and North Korea.
The unarmed Minuteman III missile roared out of a silo at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California late at night, raced across the sky at speeds of up to 15,000 mph (24,000 kph) and landed a half hour later in a target area 4,200 miles (6,500 km) away near Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands of the South Pacific.
Deputy Defense Secretary Robert Work, who witnessed the launch, said the U.S. tests, conducted at least 15 times since January 2011, send a message to strategic rivals like Russia, China and North Korea that Washington has an effective nuclear arsenal.
"That’s exactly why we do this," Work told reporters before the launch.
"We and the Russians and the Chinese routinely do test shots to prove that the operational missiles that we have are reliable. And that is a signal ... that we are prepared to use nuclear weapons in defense of our country if necessary."
Demonstrating the reliability of the nuclear force has taken on additional importance recently because the U.S. arsenal is near the end of its useful life and a spate of scandals in the nuclear force two years ago raised readiness questions.

Navy and Marine Corps leaders warned Friday that China's rapid military buildup in the Pacific Ocean could force the United States to move ships and forces in response.
Friday's comments from Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John Richardson, Navy Secretary Ray Mabus and Marine Corps Commandant Gen. Robert Neller followed a week of warnings by Adm. Harry Harris to Congress that the pace of China's militarization on a string of man-made islands in the South China Sea is changing operations in the Pacific.
During his testimony this week on Capitol Hill, Harris, commander of the Pacific Command, cautioned China has swiftly moved jets, missiles, bombers and radars onto many of the man-made islands that it built during the last year. China developed the islands by building on top of submerged coral reefs and other underwater land features in the South China Sea.
"These are actions that are changing, in my opinion, the operational landscape in the South China Sea," Harris told lawmakers.
The weapons that China is placing on those islands could require the United States to reconsider its own presence in the region, Richardson and Neller said Friday at an event hosted by the Brookings Institution, public policy research group in Washington, D.C. The Navy already wants to have 60 percent of its planned fleet of 308 US warships committed to the Pacific by 2020.
For example, Richardson said China's advances might require the United States to reassess its attack submarine fleet. The Navy has said for years that 48 attack submarines is what it needs to carry out its mission. But Richardson said Friday that might not be enough.
"That number is really based on analysis from 2006," he said. With China's recent developments, "that's becoming a more urgent situation."
China has completed three 10,000-foot runways and dispatched advanced attack aircraft and bomber aircraft to the islands. In recent weeks, it has also installed advanced surface-to-surface missiles and radar systems that could make US aircraft carriers more vulnerable.

JUST AHEAD OF LEAP YEAR 2016 FEBRUARY 29TH THE US AIRFORCE ANNOUNCES ITS NEXT GENERATION BOMBER THAT WILL REPLACE THE WW2 ERA DESIGNED COLD WAR B52 BOMBER TO BE CALLED THE B21

The US Air Force on Friday unveiled the first image of its next-generation bomber that will replace antique B-52s first developed during the Cold War.
The all-black plane has a distinctive, zigzagging shape and a super-low profile that will make it hard to spot on radar, and bears more than a passing resemblance to the Air Force's B-2 bomber, which is also made by Northrop Grumman.
The new stealth bomber has yet to be built, so Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James displayed an artist's rendering at an Orlando event.
She said the plane, previously known as the Long Range Strike Bomber, would be called the B-21 until a new name has been agreed on, and she invited air crews to help.
"This aircraft represents the future for our Airmen, and (their) voice is important to this process," James told the Air Force Association's Air Warfare Symposium.

THE APPLE AND ITS CHINA ACCOMODATION TO BEND BACKWARDS FOR THE COMMUNIST REGEME TO KEEP USING ITS CITIZENS LIKE SLAVES TO BUILD CHEAP IPHONES WHILST REAPING PROFITS THE CAPITALISTIC WAY AS RUN BY THE LIBERAL LEADERSHIP - WHILTS ITS HOMELAND FRONT GETS THE STONE WALL OF CHINA INSTEAD AS APPLE FIGHTS THE FBI FOR IPHONE ACCESS TO THE HUSBAND AND WIFE TERRORISTS KILLING AMERICANS IN SAN BERNANDINO CA

Apple Inc. has come out swinging in its pitched battle with the government on its home turf.
But when it comes to its second-largest market, China, the Cupertino, Calif., company has been far more accommodating.
Since the iPhone was officially introduced in China seven years ago, Apple has overcome a national security backlash there and has censored apps that wouldn't pass muster with Chinese authorities. It has moved local user data onto servers operated by the state-owned China Telecom and submits to security audits by Chinese authorities.
The approach contrasts with Apple's defiant stance against the FBI, which is heaping pressure on the company to decrypt an iPhone that belonged to San Bernardino shooter Syed Rizwan Farook.
