A secret decision apparently has been made by the United States, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and even Iran to let the strategic Syrian Kurdish town of Kobani on the Turkish-Syrian border fall to ISIS fighters, jeopardizing the lives of some 160,000 Syrian Kurds, WND has been told by a well-placed Middle East expert.

In letting Kobani fall to ISIS, the source said, there was agreement “to deal with ISIS later.”

The apparent decision aims to diminish the influence of the Kurds in Syria and weaken the prospect of creating a sovereign Kurdistan, which is sought by the Kurds not only in Syria, but in Turkey, Iran and Iraq..

“It is a real set up behind the backs of everyone,” the well-placed source told WND.

Ankara has brought its tanks up to the Turkish-Syrian border in sight of Kobani but has not committed any troops to stop the ISIS siege of the Kurdish city.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Kurds have been appealing for arms and ammunition in addition to aerial bombing by the U.S.-led coalition of Arab countries on ISIS positions. Sources on the ground, however, say the bombing has become virtually meaningless, since ISIS fighters have blended into the population, requiring more fighters on the ground.

Iraqi officials have issued a desperate plea for America to bring US ground troops back to the embattled country, as heavily armed Islamic State militants came within striking distance of Baghdad.

Amid reports that Isil forces have advanced as far as Abu Ghraib, a town that is effectively a suburb of Baghdad, a senior governor claimed up to 10,000 fighters from the movement were now poised to assault the capital.

The warning came from Sabah al-Karhout, president of the provisional council of Anbar Province, the vast desert province to the west of Baghdad that has now largely fallen under jihadist control.

The province’s two main cities, Fallujah and Ramadi, were once known as “the graveyard of the Americans”, and the idea of returning there will not be welcomed by the Pentagon.

But were the province to be controlled by Isil, it would give their forces a springboard from which to mount an all-out assault on Baghdad, where a team of around 1,500 US troops is already acting as mentors to the beleaguered Iraqi army.

 

Iraqi government officials claim that while international attention has been focused in recent weeks on the Syrian border town of Kobane - where Kurdish fighters are still battling to keep advancing Isil gunmen at bay – Anbar province has been on the verge of collapse.

Government forces in the provincial capital Ramadi were holding out against the Isil offensive on Saturday, but US officials have warned that the city was in a “tenuous” position.

“I think it’s fragile there now,” said one senior US defence official, speaking to the AFP news agency. “They are being resupplied and they’re holding their own, but it’s tough and challenging.”

The Air Force's Black Eagles aerobatic team plans to take part in an air show next month in China's Guangdong Province, but the U.S. is trying to block the move citing the risk of exposing classified technology.
The Black Eagles use T-50 trainer jets developed by Korea Aerospace Industries with technological support from Lockheed Martin.
Korea needs U.S. approval in order to export the T-50 trainers and to fly the aircraft into “hostile” territories.

A government source on Wednesday said the Black Eagles "have been preparing for some time to take part in the Zuhai Air Show next month, but the U.S. recently expressed opposition to the plan."
The team is scheduled to perform in order to demonstrate strengthened military ties between Seoul and Beijing. It was decided in July talks between Vice Defense Minister Baek Seung-joo and the deputy chief of the People's Liberation Army, Wang Guanzhong.

The U.S. veto has drawn some flak here. An Air Force officer said, "We believe the issue will be resolved through negotiations between the U.S. and Korea and the Black Eagles are practicing to enter the air show."
The biennial Zuhai Air Show is China's leading aviation showcase and features state-of-the-art drones, attack helicopters and other aircraft. Arms manufacturers from around the world except for the U.S. and Europe take part in the event.

Three senior House Republican leaders wrote to President Obama two weeks ago warning that Moscow will deploy nuclear missiles and bombers armed with long-range air launched cruise missiles into occupied Ukrainian territory.

“Locating nuclear weapons on the sovereign territory of another state without its permission is a devious and cynical action,” states the letter signed by House Armed Services Committee Chairman Howard P. “Buck” McKeon (R., Calif.) and two subcommittee chairmen.

“It further positions Russian nuclear weapons closer to the heart of NATO, and it allows Russia to gain a military benefit from its seizure of Crimea, allowing Russia to profit from its action.”

East Asia, with its trade and transport hubs and armies of migrant workers, is at risk from Ebola but is improving its defenses and may be more ready than other areas to respond if cases are diagnosed, World Health Organization officials said Friday.

Shin Young-soo, the WHO regional director for the Western Pacific, said East Asia has been a “hotspot” for emerging diseases in the past and has dealt with SARS and avian flu, so it is more prepared than other regions to respond after learning the importance of public education, strong surveillance and transparency.
An outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS, began in southern China in 2002 and infected about 8,000 people worldwide, killing nearly 800.
The current outbreak of the Ebola virus has killed more than 3,800 people, the vast majority of them in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone, according to the World Health Organization.

Shin says member countries are putting up strong infrastructure preparedness for Ebola and each has an emergency operating center linked to the regional office in Manila and the WHO headquarters in Geneva.
“All these travel, economic trade, and we have global hubs like Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines is sending a lot of work forces all over the world,” make it a possibility for the virus to reach East Asia, Shin said. But “we are in a better shape than other regions,” he added.

Li Ailan, director of health security and emergencies at the WHO regional office, said two candidate Ebola vaccines under development in the U.S. and United Kingdom are now in the human clinical trial phase and a vaccine may be ready on a limited scale by January. Health care workers and those who handle dead bodies of Ebola victims are being recommended as the priority recipients.
Philippine Health Secretary Enrique Ona said the Philippines is considering a request by the U.S. and U.K. for the country to send health workers to Ebola-hit West African countries, where there is a shortage of health personnel. A firm decision will be made within a week.

President Obama rubbed shoulders with some of Hollywood’s biggest stars at a Democratic fundraiser Thursday night, but host and Academy Award-winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow appeared to be the most star-struck.

Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz, the rabbi of the Kotel (Western Wall) and Holy Sites, decried the Arab attempts to wreck the week-long Sukkot holiday by launching violent riots against police and Jewish visitors on the Temple Mount, the holiest site in Judaism.

Speaking to Arutz Sheva, the rabbi argued that the Arab rioters are intentionally trying to prevent Jews from reaching the site on Sukkot, one of the three Jewish pilgrimage holidays that in ancient times required Jews to travel to the Temple in Jerusalem, a practice maintained by many.

"The Arab leadership's feigned ignorance in the face of these acts of violence by young rioters is shocking," said Rabbi Rabinowitz. "How can they deny the reality that the Temple Mount and the (Al-Aqsa) mosque has been turned into a terror base?"

Indeed, on Friday police prepared for riots by limiting access for Muslims over concerns that ongoing riots would be further inflamed, particularly after Hamas called for that violence the night before saying "we will fight till the last drop of blood."

Facebook grew the most, jumping 23 places to 29th, and Nokia dropped the most, falling 41 spots to 98th.

Former President Jimmy Carter is criticizing President Barack Obama’s Middle East policy, saying he has shifting policies and waited too long to take action against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

In an interviewed published Tuesday in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the 39th president said the Obama administration, by not acting sooner, allowed ISIL to build up its strength.

“[W]e waited too long. We let the Islamic State build up its money, capability and strength and weapons while it was still in Syria,” he said, using an alternate name for the terrorist group. “Then when [ISIL] moved into Iraq, the Sunni Muslims didn’t object to their being there and about a third of the territory in Iraq was abandoned.”

EBOLA DALLAS PATIENT DIES–THOMAS ERIC DUNCAN

The first patient diagnosed with Ebola virus in the United States died Wednesday morning, the Dallas hospital where he was being treated announced.

Thomas Eric Duncan, who traveled to Texas from Liberia before exhibiting symptoms of the viral disease, was admitted to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital early last week and tested positive for Ebola.

Duncan, 42, had been in critical condition for several days. He died at 7:51 a.m. local time Wednesday.

A senior Department of Defense official says President Obama and his administration are giving the public inaccurate information about his foreign policy strategy, particularly with regards to Iraq.

Joseph Miller, the pseudonym for a ranking Department of Defense official who has served in Iraq and Afghanistan, wrote in The Daily Caller Tuesday, partially in reaction to a statement released by White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest which said that the decision for American military forces to leave Iraq “was predicated on the will of the Iraqi security forces to fight for their country.”…….

…….Miller continues by noting Obama’s team did not “seriously negotiate” with the Iraqis, and chose to claim the withdrawal a political victory ahead of the 2012 election.

“Instead of investing any time in negotiating the agreement, the Obama Administration used the Maliki regime’s refusal to grant immunity as a political out for withdrawing all U.S. combat forces from Iraq by the end of 2010.

“That saw the immediate withdrawal of U.S. forces and the end of Operation New Dawn, the successor to Operation Iraqi Freedom. It also saw the rise of ISIS, and brings us to where we are today.”

Miller also referenced President Obama’s blaming of the intelligence community for underestimating The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) during an interview aired Sunday on 60 minutes, when the President said “they underestimated” rather than ‘we underestimated.’

“But we know that isn’t true, as nearly a dozen administration officials have testified to the threat posed by ISIS publicly over the last year.”

TOOTHPASTE TOXIN PARABENS AND TRICLOSAN REMOVED BY MANUFACTURERS BUT NOT YET DELARED HARMFUL BY THE FDA

Kaiser Permanente, a California-based health care consortium, is one of them. In 2010, it pulled triclosan from its 37 hospitals across the country, switching to traditional soaps and alcohol-based hand sanitizers.
Johnson & Johnson, one of the world's biggest healthcare companies, has also pledged to remove triclosan from all of its adult products by the end of 2015. The company noted none of its baby products currently contain the ingredient.
The ministry currently allows 0.2 percent of parabens in a toothpaste. None of the toothpastes in Korea exceeded the limit.

The ministry has no regulations about the amount of triclosan.
Rep. Kim Jae-won from the ruling Saenuri Party said that the ministry is failing to regulate the substances despite growing concerns around the world.
According to the ministry, 16 side effect cases about parabens-contained toothpastes were reported last year, up from seven in 2012.

Opinions are divided among scientists about the effects of parabens and triclosan.

The U.S. may be willing to send its finest, the soldiers in its military, to Liberia to fight Ebola, but not Israel.

According to a report on Twitchy, America’s best ally in the Middle East for generations has refused to go along with a request from Samantha Power, America’s U.N. ambassador.

The reports have pointedly noted that the U.S. cut off flights to Israel over the recent military activity on the part of Hamas, but has continued to provide flight connections to the Ebola-stricken West Africa.

“There’s a little buzz today on this story reporting that Israel has turned down a request from Samantha Power and the United States to provide medical assistance and personnel to Ebola-stricken countries in Africa,” the report said.

“Does Samantha Power not see the double standard here? To summarize: the United States canceled flights to Israel earlier this summer because of one errant rocket from Gaza that hit near Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv, but now wants Israel to send help to hot-zones in Africa?

“Israel was somehow unsafe for air travel, but there are no worries flying Israelis to Liberia or Sierra Leone?”

Israel News Now had the post, “Israel rejects U.S. request on Ebola relief in Africa.” Because?

Well, “Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon says assisting in medical relief in Liberia and Sierra Leone would risk infecting Israeli personnel.”
