HOMEOWNERS JUMPS ON THE KEYLESS ENTRY OPTION SIMILAR TO VEHICLE THEY DRIVE AS DIGITAL LOCKS ARE BECOMING THE NORM–OPTING FOR CONVENIENCE SAKE–AS SAMSUNG AND YALE ARE POPULAR DIGITAL LOCK MAKERS

Home owners are increasingly opting to go keyless not just for their vehicles, but their homes as well, as the popularity of digital locks has surged over the past three years.

With features such as keycard access, fingerprint scanners, password entry and even phone-app unlocking, digital locks are changing the game for an otherwise enduring invention.

Digital locks have been on the market for almost a decade. But their popularity among home owners, particularly those staying in Housing Board flats, has exploded in the past year, according to Mr Ivan Lee, director and co-founder of An Digital Lock. The retailer's sales have increased by 25 to 30 per cent year on year over the past three years, he said.

Most users cite convenience as the main reason for opting for a digital lock over a traditional one, as they do not need to carry a set of keys around with them. Neither do they have to worry about forgetting to lock their doors, as such a lock will automatically latch itself when the door is closed.

"I wanted to get a lock which would reduce the amount of hassle when I come home," said Mr Andy Wee, 33, who works in a tuition agency. He installed a Samsung digital lock at his Design, Build and Sell Scheme (DBSS) apartment in Yishun last July.

"Many times when I return home, I would realise that I had left my keys at my workplace or in the car, and would have to go back to get them," Mr Wee said.

My Digital Lock founder Ronn Teo said his number of installations has jumped significantly this year, but declined to reveal figures.

Half of the digital locks are installed at HDB flats, particularly new Build-To-Order or DBSS units, he said. His firm's clientele comprises mostly young, just-married couples, with a "few people in their 40s".

The other installations are split evenly between condominiums and office spaces.

Both Samsung and Yale are popular choices here due to their strong brand name and brand association, said Mr Teo.

But brands such as Kaba, Evernet, Gateman, Mykey, Hyundai and Virdi have also been making headway, giving consumers a wealth of options in terms of design, functions and looks.

Installation of digital locks is generally quick, with qualified contractors typically able to finish the job in less than two hours.

The basic tier of locks start from $299, such as the Yale YDR3110, and function as add-ons to existing locks on doors. Such locks offer either PIN access or key card access, or both.

TESLA MODEL S IS BEING VOLUNTARY RECALLED SINCE ONE FAULTY PASSENGER SEATBELT WAS INCORRECLY MANUFACTURED FROM THE 90,000 TOTAL WORLDWIDE SALES

ELECTRIC car company Tesla has issued a worldwide voluntary recall to every single Model S on the road, around 90,000 in total.

But this isn’t because of some huge manufacturing defect — it’s a result of just one single report from Europe that a seatbelt wasn’t assembled properly.

The fault was found after the person sitting in the front passenger seat turned to talk to other passengers in the rear seats and their seatbelt became disconnected. Officially, Tesla said that, “a bolt that connects the outboard lap pretensioner, which pulls the seatbelt tight in the event of an accident, wasn’t assembled properly.”

There were no injuries as a result of the incident and there have been no other reported examples. Tesla also says they haven’t been able to replicate the issue on its assembly line or on any of the other 3000 cars they have tested.

The US government agency that looks after automotive safety, the NHTSA was notified of the incident but didn’t order Tesla to issue a recall, they did that themselves.

ANOTHER THAAD SUCCESSFUL TEST IN THE WAKE ISLAND OF THE WESTERN PACIFIC ALONG WITH THE AEGIS SYSTEM TO DEFEND THE WESTERN SHOULDER OF THE USA FROM ANY COMMUNISTS WHO DARE MAKE THE SURPRISE FIRST STRIKE ATTACK SIMILAR TO THE DAY THAT LIVES IN INFAMY PEARL HARBOR OF WW2–AS MULTIPLE THREAT MISSILE ATTACKS COUNTERED WITH MULTIPLE DEFENSIVE KILLS

The United States successfully conducted the latest test of its ballistic missile defense system early this month, with the THAAD and the Aegis systems working together to intercept multiple targets as intended in a layered defense design, according to a congressional report.
The test was conducted in the vicinity of Wake Island in the western Pacific Ocean on Nov. 1, the Congressional Research Service said in a report on the Navy's Aegis ballistic missile defense program, citing the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.
In addition to the MDA, other participants included the Ballistic Missile Defense System Operational Test Agency, Joint Functional Component Command for Integrated Missile Defense, the U.S. European Command and U.S. Pacific Command, it said.
"The test stressed the ability of Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense and Terminal High Altitude Area Defense weapon systems to negate two ballistic missile threats while Aegis BMD (ballistic missile defense) simultaneously conducted an anti-air warfare operation," the MDA was quoted as saying.
"This was a complex operational test of the BMDs which required all elements to work together in an integrated layered defense design to detect, track, discriminate, engage and negate the ballistic missile threats," it said.
Assets involved in the test included a THAAD battery consisting of a THAAD Fire Control and Communications unit, THAAD launcher, and an AN/TPY-2 radar in terminal mode; a second AN/TPY-2 radar in forward-based mode; Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications; and the USS John Paul Jones Aegis BMD-configured ship with its onboard AN/SPY-1 radar, the agency said.
The test, which was formally designated "Flight Test Operational-02 Event 2a," began when an Air Force C-17 aircraft launched a short range air launch target around 11:05 p.m. (Eastern Time) on Oct. 31.

CALIFORNIA’S WATER DISTRIBUTOR THE METROPOLITAN WATER DISTRICT OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA IS NOT OUT TO GET MORE WATER BUT LOOKS TO BE OUT FOR RESTRICTING THE USE THEREOF FROM LAND OWNERS LIKE FARMERS –AS THE WATER AGENCY GOBBLES UP LAND IN THE PALO VERDE VALLEY TO STAKE ITS WATER CLAIM TO THE DISMAY OF THE LOCAL FARMERS WHO DESPERATELY NEEDS WATER FROM THE COLORADO RIVER

The nation's largest distributor of treated drinking water became the largest landowner in a remote California farming region for good reason: The alfalfa-growing area is first in line to get Colorado River water.

Metropolitan Water District of Southern California's play in Palo Verde Valley, along the Arizona line, tapped a deep distrust between farm and city that pervades the West over a river that's a lifeline for seven states and northern Mexico.

Farmers recall how Los Angeles' modern founders built an aqueduct a century ago to bring water hundreds of miles from rural Owens Valley, a story that was fictionally portrayed in Roman Polanski's 1974 film, "Chinatown."

"Are we going to dry up our rural, agricultural communities just to keep Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego growing? I think it would be a sad state of affairs," said Bart Fisher, a melon and broccoli farmer who is board president of the Palo Verde Irrigation District.

Metropolitan tried to calm nerves by sending its chairman in September to a public forum in Blythe, 225 miles east of its Los Angeles headquarters. It pledged to honor a 2004 agreement that caps the amount of land it pays farmers to idle at 28 percent of the valley.

That agreement, which expires in 2040, is hailed as a model for farms and cities to cooperate. Metropolitan pays farmers about as much as they would profit to harvest - $771 an acre this year - to bring foregone Colorado River water on its 242-mile aqueduct to 19 million people in the coastal megalopolis it serves.

WHEN YOU OPEN THE MIND OF THE POTUS BHO WHEN PUTTING AMERICAN CITIZENS LIVES AT RISK AND WHO AMERICA IS CULTURALLY AND IGNORING THE HISTORIC RISE FROM THE WORLD SEEN DURING 18TH CENTURY INTO THE BACK OF THE BUS FOR THE PERCEIVED CREATED LEFTIST AGENDA THIS IS WHO IS THE DEMOCRAT POTUS BHO CHAOS

Kupelian wrote in a column earlier this week that, with the catastrophic Obama-era decline of America now threatening to spin out of control, "many are again straining to understand what on earth is really going on inside Obama’s mind."

He cited the following list of concerns and possible explanations for Obama's narcissism.

  • Some cite his barely disguised Marxist worldview (Fox pundit Monica Crowley recently said on the radio, "Obama’s not a Democrat. He’s a Marxist revolutionary"), with its obsession with radical redistribution of wealth and power. Marxism, by definition, justifies as "moral" not merely lying, but ruthless suppression of dissent, violence and tyranny – as long as these measures advance the glorious (though delusional) utopian cause. "Exhibit A" for this point would be the entire 20th century.
  • Some cite Obama’s childhood and upbringing. His Marxist-atheist-alcoholic-bigamist Kenyan father abandoned him, his Islamic stepfather raised him as a Muslim in Indonesia, his mother essentially abandoned him, and his most influential mentor as a young teenager was Frank Marshall Davis, a card-carrying member of the Communist Party USA, a pornographer and admitted sexual abuser of minors.
  • Some cite Obama’s religious background – his 20-year affiliation with his "spiritual mentor," the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who preached raw hatred of America, capitalism and white people, and whose “black liberation theology” gospel amounts to Afro-centric Marxism dressed up with cherry-picked Bible verses.
  • Some cite his background in "Chicago politics" – a euphemism for wall-to-wall corruption and criminality. Indeed, the state of Illinois, where a staggering total of four recent governors – Otto Kerner, Dan Walker, George Ryan and Rod Blagojevich – have gone to prison for corruption, remains a political cesspool to this day, as confirmed by a study from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s political science department. Obama is a product of this legendarily corrupt “Chicago machine” and played the game ruthlessly while rising in the ranks there.
  • Some cite Obama’s education, the most important part of which, by his own admission, came via Saul Alinsky. During the 2008 campaign, Obama said of his years steeped in the Chicago Marxist’s revolutionary "community organizing" methods: "It was that education that was seared into my brain. It was the best education I ever had, better than anything I got at Harvard Law School."

THE FIRST BUSINESS SUPERSONIC JET TO BE FASTER THAN THE SPEED OF SOUND AT MACH 1.5 OR 750MPH TO BE RELIAZED IN 2023 BY A TEXAN BILLIONAIRE ROBERT BASS THE COMPANY AERION ALONG WITH AIRBUS GROUP SE

Aerion, the supersonic-jet maker backed by Texas billionaire Robert Bass, plans to choose a manufacturing site during the first half of next year as it targets delivering the first faster-than-sound business aircraft in 2023.
The timeline unveiled Monday fleshes out how Aerion and partner Airbus Group SE intend to build a civilian plane capable of trans-sonic travel, a niche left vacant since the retirement of the Concorde in 2003. The team has made preliminary designs for a carbon-fiber wing structure, fuselage, landing gear and a fuel system, among other components.
“We see clear and achievable technical solutions to the design of a supersonic jet, and a realistic road map for helping Aerion proceed toward construction and flight,” Airbus Senior Vice President Ken McKenzie said in a statement.
Airbus will provide major components and Aerion will do the final assembly, the companies said in the statement released at the National Business Aviation Association trade show in Las Vegas. For the production site, Aerion needs a 100-acre (40-hectare) area near a U.S. airport with a runway at least 9,000 feet (2,700 meters) long, The plan is to break ground on the factory in 2018.
Aerion is targeting the first flight of the AS2 for 2021. The project began in 2002 and was put on hold by the 2008-09 financial crisis.
The collaboration with Airbus announced last year increases Aerion’s chances of building a private jet that can break the sound barrier. The AS2 is intended to fly efficiently at lower speeds over land because of flight restrictions related to sonic booms. Over oceans, the aircraft can accelerate to Mach 1.5, which is 1.5 times the speed of sound or about 750 miles (1,200 kilometers) per hour at sea level.

SO NOW THAT JAPAN HAS LEGISLATED THE INTERPRETATION OF ITS CONSTITUTION TO DEPLOY ITS MILITARY OUTSIDE OF THE JAPAN PREFICTURES AND INTO OTHER NATIONS IN THE GUISE OF A DEFENSIVE POSTURE IN LIEU OF DEFENDING AN ALLY–ITS LIBERAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY WANTS TO REEXAMINE ITS IMPERIAL JAPAN ADVANCES IN WW2 AND JUDGEMENT HANDED BY THE VICTORS WHO GOES THE SPOILS AND LOOKS TO WANT TO PLACE SQUARELY THE BLAME ON THE UNITED STATES FOR STARTING THE WAR–THE LEFTIST MINDSET AT WORK

Japan’s ruling party is reportedly planning to reexamine the history of Imperial Japan from the Sino-Japanese War in the late 19th century to World War II.
Japanese media reports that the Liberal Democratic Party plans to set up this month a history review panel to mark the 60th anniversary of the party’s founding.
We suspect that the move is related to Japanese nationalists’ persistent efforts to justify Japan’s aggressions against Asian countries in the first half of the 20th century.
The suspicion is strengthened by the reports that the panel, which will directly report to Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, plans to review the verdicts handed down by the International Military Tribunal for the Far East.
The tribunal was established in 1946 to judge the war crimes committed by the leaders of the Empire of Japan since the first Sino-Japanese war (1894-1895).
It ruled 25 Japanese Class-A war criminals guilty of crimes against peace, sentencing seven of them, including wartime Prime Minister Hideki Tojo, to death by hanging.
Japan accepted the jurisdiction by signing the San Francisco Peace Treaty in 1952. Yet Japan’s right-wing politicians have long questioned the validity of the rulings. They argue that Tokyo trials simply delivered victors’ justice rather than fair judgments.

FROM ONE OF THE LARGEST PROTEST SINCE 2008 EVENT HAPPENED THIS WEEKEND IN SEOUL KOREA AND WHEN YOU MIX THE LEFTIST WITH THE UNION PROTESTORS THE RESULT IS VIOLENCE AND IN THE 2008 PROTEST WAS ABOUT MAD COWS WHERE’S THE BEEF IMPORTS FROM THE US AND TODAY–THE PROTEST IS TO PROMOTE THE LEFTIST HISTORICAL ACCOUNT OF THE KIM IN REGARDS TO THE KOREAN WAR AND THEREAFTER–SO THE GOVERNMENT POSITION IS TO CORRECT THE ERRORS BUT THE LEFTIST WOULD HAVE NONE OF THAT AND TAGS ALONG WITH THE FARMERS AND UNION FOR THE COMBINE PROTEST WHICH THEN BECOMES INTO AN OUT OF CONTROL CHAOTIC MASS OF 130,000 OF WHICH A FEW IMPLANTED ARE RAINING THE CHAOS IT WOULD SEEM

The largest protests in years held in central Seoul on Saturday spiraled into violence, with police firing tear gas and water cannons to stop antigovernment protestors from marching toward the presidential office.
The rallies, led by labor, civic and farmers’ groups, took place in protest against the government’s push to reintroduce state-authored histextbooks, reform the labor sector and open the agricultural market.
Police estimated some 64,000 people took to the street for rallies throughout the nation’s capital and a mass march toward Cheong Wa Dae, the largest ever since the street protests against the import of U.S. beef amid fears of mad cow disease in 2008. The protest organizers projected that as many as 130,000 gathered for the protest that stretched late into the night.
