With another Presidents' Day bachelor holiday planned by President Obama, this time golfing in California, and Aspen, Colo., resort reporters on the lookout for the annual first lady ski trip this weekend, the taxpayer's tab for the first family's vacations has topped $2.4 million.
When all of the reporting of the first family’s 22 vacations so far to Hawaii, Martha’s Vineyard, Spain, Colorado, Florida, Africa and elsewhere is added up, the estimate reaches over $18 million when hotel and resort rent, security hotel and car rentals, and airfare are included.
Multiple news organizations have also tallied the costs of the first family's Christmas vacations in Hawaii, $16 million; and summers in Martha’s Vineyard, $500,000.
The White House under no administration has released detailed vacation costs, though Secret Service and Air Force records have been subject to Freedom of Information Act requests, which is how Judicial Watch has received their figures.
“The Obamas are abusing the perks of public office,” said Fitton. “Taxpayers shouldn't be footing the bill for their luxury travel.”

“One percent of the us labor force earns the minimum wage.” All these evil capitalist businesses out there required only to pay their peasant workers minimum wage and yet only one percent of them actually do it. Doesn’t that crush the boogeyman of the evil capitalist right off the bat?
Remember, the issue the White House says is so pressing is people working full time, trying to support a household. Well, of that one percent, teenagers make up the largest age group.
In fact, “most minimum wage workers are under 25.” 55% of minimum wage workers are under the age of 25. Ok, so we’ve established it’s mostly kids making minimum wage. I say kids because they’re all on mommy and daddy’s health insurance. But surely they’re at least full time like the president said, right?
“Less than one-third work full-time.” Only 32% of minimum wage workers work full time. This is how progressives fight battles by the way. They look at an issue this big, like a pile of 100 fries, and only tell you about this part of it: one-third of one fry, but according to the president, these full time minimum wage earners are living in poverty-and that’s why he wants to raise the wage.
Yeah, about that. You see, a full time minimum wage worker in 2014 makes $3,410 dollars more than the federal poverty limit. So, depending on his family size, a full time minimum wage worker could take as much as 11 weeks of unpaid vacation and still clear the poverty line. He might not make the kind of cash Obama and his friends make, but someone should tell the president to look at their own numbers before running his mouth.

President Obama will announce during his visit to California on Friday new efforts by the administration to aid drought-stricken regions across the country.
California is currently experiencing one of the state's worst droughts in more than 100 years. The state is not alone in its struggles, as others are attempting to deal with the crippling depletion of water resources, the administration said, tying the extreme weather to climate change.
"Weather practically everywhere is being caused by climate change," said John Holdren, assistant to Obama for science and technology on a call with reporters Thursday. "A substantial part of the reason that is happening is a warming world."
To help those impacted by the drought, the Department of Agriculture will fast-track the livestock disaster programs approved in the 2014 farm bill, which Obama signed into law last week.
Under the bill, $100 million in livestock disaster assistance will be distributed to California producers.
The administration will also direct $15 million in specific conservation assistance for areas affected by extreme and exceptional drought, including an additional $5 million to California and $10 million to the drought-impacted states of Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Colorado and New Mexico.

PART-TIME employees are having to squeeze five days of work into three, making a sham of flexible working conditions and work-life balance.

“It’s something which comes through strongly on our qualitative research. It is not uncommon for those in long part-time hours jobs (working three of four days) to find themselves being expected to manage a full-time workload.”

Iranian oil exports soared in January, hitting new highs just months after the United States consented to billions of dollars in economic sanctions relief under the interim nuclear deal.
Exports of Iranian crude oil jumped to 1.32 million barrels, up from December’s high of 1.06 million barrels, according to data from the International Energy Agency.
The spike in exports—mainly to Japan, China, and India—has helped Iran’s once-ailing economy stabilize and decrease inflation.
Iranian oil exports have steadily risen since negotiations with the West restored confidence in Tehran’s economy. The increase runs counter to a promise by the Obama administration that “Iran’s oil exports will remain steady at their current level of around 1 million barrels per day.”
The significant rise in oil exports has led some experts to accuse the Obama administration of misleading the public about the amount of sanctions relief provided under the interim nuclear deal.
While the White House said Iran would receive no more than $7 billion in relief, these experts say that the rise in oil exports and other economic spikes will give Iran “well more than $20 billion.”

As part of the new illegal Obamacare directive to postpone the law for businesses with 50 to 99 employees, Obama put the IRS in direct control of critical U.S. business decisions. He demanded that businesses must “justify” hiring and firing decisions to the IRS to qualify for the exemption.
- To show his total distain for Congress and the American people he unilaterally loosened the rules for citizenship to allow foreigners with only a “minor” connection to terrorism to become citizens. Dennis Miller once said on Monday Night Football, “there is no such thing as a minor groin injury.” Well there is no such thing as a “minor” terrorist either.
- Much along the same lines, Obama’s Attorney General Eric Holder announced this week how “unjust” it is to not allow felons to vote.

Embattled Attorney General Eric Holder told the New Yorker magazine he plans to step down from his post later this year, but a Holder spokesman now denies he made any such commitment.
It’s just another confusing day in the increasingly chaotic Obama administration, where, as the president’s approval ratings continue to fall, the left hand never quite seems to know what the extreme-left hand is doing.
In an interview that appears in the New Yorker’s Feb. 17 issue, Holder told Jeffrey Toobin that he intends to remain in his position “well into” the year. Holder “told me that he will leave office sometime this year,” Toobin writes in the feature article.
Although Holder has been instrumental in protecting the Democratic Party’s voter fraud rackets, stirring up racial antagonism, covering up scandals such as Benghazi and the IRS targeting of conservative nonprofits, and keeping President Obama out of legal trouble, largely by lying and stonewalling, rumors have long persisted that the conservative-hating cabinet member was on his way out at the U.S. Department of Justice.
In what appears to be an inept attempt at semantic game-playing, a Department of Justice spokesman now claims Holder didn’t tell the New Yorker he was planning to resign. In damage control mode, DoJ spokesman Brian Fallon tried to spin away the resignation story by arguing that the attorney general did not explicitly say he would quit this year, but that he would stay “well into 2014.”
“The most the Attorney General has said is that he still has a lot he wants to accomplish on issues like criminal justice reform, voting rights and LGBT equality,” Fallon said. “He did not speak about his plans any further than that.”

Two Republican lawmakers in Missouri have now filed articles of impeachment against the state's Democratic governor, Jay Nixon.
State Rep. Mike Moon (R) became the latest GOP legislator to join the effort to remove Nixon, after state Rep. Nick Marshall (R) put the wheels in motion earlier this month.
According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Moon's articles of impeachment cited Nixon's failure to call a special election to fill a vacant congressional seat in Missouri. Marshall, on the other hand, was driven to take action after Nixon issued an executive order last year permitting same-sex couples married in other states to file joint federal income tax returns.
Nixon said Thursday that he'd like the state to vote on same-sex marriage, adding that he'd vote to lift the ban on gay nuptials.
The governor, elected to a second term in 2012, dismissed the impeachment effort as a "publicity stunt."

But the company says that, at some point, it hopes to roll out the third, “customizable” gender option to international users, as well. This morning Reuters obtained a leaked proposal disclosing that European Union officials are looking for new and innovative ways to fund their immense debt levels.
As noted by Zero Hedge, they’re no longer turning exclusively to central bankers to simply print more money as needed. Because last year’s bank bail-in forcing the confiscation of funds from average depositors in Cyprus worked so well, EU regulators and bankers have determined that they’ll use a similar method to fund their future endeavors.
In a nutshell, and in Reuters’ own words, “the savings of the European Union’s 500 million citizens could be used to fund long-term investments to boost the economy and help plug the gap left by banks since the financial crisis, an EU document says.”
…
The solution? “The Commission will ask the bloc’s insurance watchdog in the second half of this year for advice on a possible draft law “to mobilize more personal pension savings for long-term financing”, the document said.”
Mobilize, once again, is a more palatable word than, say, confiscate.
This is what happens when governments run out of money.

Senate Republicans requested that the Senate clerk not call out how Republicans were voting on Wednesday’s key debt limit vote to make it easier for GOP leaders to convince their colleagues to change their votes, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday.
“After the vote began, it was quickly clear that Republican leaders were struggling to deliver enough votes to clear the 60-vote hurdle upon which they had insisted instead of a simple majority, and a potentially catastrophic default suddenly seemed possible,” Reid spokesman Adam Jentleson told CQ Roll Call in a statement. “At Senate Republicans’ request, the clerk did not call the names during the vote to make it easier for Republican leaders to convince their members to switch their votes.”
A vote tally sheet obtained by CQ Roll Call suggests six Senate Republicans switched their votes on the cloture motion. Earlier Thursday, Capitol Hill reporters protested the decision to keep the votes secret during the nearly hourlong tally.
Reid went along, Jentleson said.

“Senator Reid believed that protecting the full faith and credit of the United States and avoiding a default that could have disastrous consequences for anyone with a bank account were the most important objectives. For this reason and as a courtesy to his Republican colleagues, he consented to Republicans’ request. These are supposed to be the good kids. The ones supposed to be impressed with the legacy of their high school’s namesake: Frederick Douglass.
They wear uniforms. They have a strict code of conduct. They prepare for college. They are black. And this week, they are the ones rioting at Frederick Douglass high school and junior high in Rochester.
Maybe the students don’t know the story of Frederick Douglass: How it was against the law for a slave to learn to read or get any kind of education. How he broke that law. How he risked everything just to steal a few moments with a book.
By 1838, Douglass escaped. He became known as a writer and speaker around the world. He lived for 25 years in Rochester – where today he is buried.
And where today, black people who live in his adopted home town regularly and frequently and intensely create black mob violence and mayhem. Some at the expense of learning. Some during Black History Month.
Earlier this week, dozens of police officers were called to the school to stop what school officials and some local media call a “few fights,” but what students and parents are calling “a riot:” 100, maybe more, black people fighting, destroying property, jumping on tables, assaulting people, and more.
The Rochester Democrat and Chronicle tracked down a student and parent to describe the mayhem:
“There was a lot of fights, a lot of gangs at the school, everybody is just going one against the other,” said Jada Jones, a student at the school who said she was jumped by another student and her older cousins in a back hallway on Tuesday.

Per the official pool report:
At 4:45 POTUS and president Hollande walked out from a portico and strolled in Front of your pool with Leslie Bowman, president of the Monticello Foundation. Looking at a terrace she said that Jefferson loved to admire the landscape from there. POTUS said that he’d like to take a look and seemed delighted to “break the protocol”.
“That’s the good thing as a President, I can do whatever I want” he quipped, walking to the terrace with his guest and Ms. Bowman. Pool now in the mansion as the leaders will come and visit Jefferson’s study.
The White House will likely insist that Obama made the comment in a strictly joking manner and only about the prospect of breaking “protocol” at Monticello. Ironically, the pool report came at around the same time it was revealed that the White House plans to unilaterally delay the Obamacare mandate for some businesses.
