Questions are piling up in the criminal case against former Speaker Denny Hastert (R-Ill.), more than one week after his indictment first went public.

The latest twist in the saga came on Friday, as a woman alleged that her deceased brother, Steve Reinboldt, suffered sexual abuse from Hastert in high school.

While the FBI’s indictment against Hastert does not charge the Republican with sexual abuse, instead focusing on bank withdrawals, it does claim that he paid to conceal what the authorities called “prior misconduct.”
