Apple revolutionised how digital music was purchased and consumed more than a decade ago with iTunes and the iPod. But the past few years has seen a shift from owning music to accessing a myriad of songs via streaming offerings like Spotify and Deezer.
Apple finally jumped in on the action on Monday with its new Apple Music app, in hopes of claiming back a space it deems to rightfully own. The app combines a streaming music service, a worldwide 24/7 live radio station and music downloads from the iTunes library into a single app. But can the tech giant edge out smaller but already-successful rivals?
