KOREA CULTURE HITS THE US FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN 2014–40,000 ATTEND KCON IN LA

The third annual edition of the Korean pop culture convention hosted by CJ E&M brought top K-pop stars such as G-Dragon and Girls' Generation. G-Dragon performed the first night along with female soloist IU, Teen Top, B1A4 and VIXX.

Girls' Generation performed the second night with CNBLUE, BTS and Jung Joon-young. The evening concerts were a special 10th anniversary of the "M!Countdown" a music program by Mnet.

But KCON 2014 also brought 36 small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) producing K-cosmetic and K-style products as well as Korean food. One of the key themes at this year's KCON 2014 is synergistic growth with Korean SMEs.

The SMEs that participate will get a chance to sell their product via CJ's home shopping channel, CJ O Shopping, but the SMEs were hoping that the two-day convention could become a platform to foray into the oversea market.
