A startup company on Friday completed what it called the first ever Federal Aviation Administration-approved drone delivery in the United States.

Drones operated by the company Flirtey and a full-sized aircraft operated by a NASA research center delivered medical supplies by air on Friday to a secluded clinic in Wise County, Va.

The delivery to the temporary clinic, which is usually supplied by trucks, was given the green light by the FAA last month.

By noon, Flirtey announced it has made two successful deliveries. It posted updates and pictures on Twitter throughout the day, with one showing a hexacopter with a container of supplies hanging from the bottom.

“It [the Cuban embassy opening] is going to be a celebration on our part,” gushed Gustavo Machin, deputy director for U.S. affairs at Cuba’s Foreign Ministry. “Many Americans who have supported the Cuban Revolution will be among the 500 celebrants at the new Embassy.”

Despite the innocuous professional title the mainstream media insists on using for Gustavo Machin, he’s actually a KGB-trained Cuban spy who was burnt and booted from the U.S. back in 2003 shortly before the invasion of Iraq. He was among 14 other Cuban spies suspected of trafficking in U.S. military secrets (more on this shortly.) 

The currently elated Machin was an accomplice of Castro’s master-spy Ana Belen Montes, who today serves a 25 year prison sentence after conviction in 2002 for the deepest and most damaging penetration of the U.S. Defense Department in modern history. Machin was neck deep in the same spying as his accomplice Montes, but enjoyed “diplomatic immunity,” which saved him from prison or the electric chair.

Now he’ll probably be visiting Washington, D.C. often “on business.” In fact it was Machin who conducted the recent “negotiations” with Obama’s team of crackerjack “negotiators” which led to this “diplomatic breakthrough” with Cuba. So who can blame him for celebrating?

“From Machin’s perspective, it would certainly be a Cuban spy-handler’s dream,” says retired Lt. Col. Chris Simmons, who helped nab both Montes and Machin along with 14 other Cuban spies and is widely hailed as America’s top Cuba spycatcher. “Hundreds of media, politicians, academics and Castro apologists all in one place at the same time. The DI (Cuba’s Directorio de Intelligencia) staff embedded within the Interests Section/Embassy will certainly be working overtime – I expect they also brought in temporary help within the “30-member delegation of diplomatic, cultural and other leaders” that arrived for the Embassy opening.”

In brief: They don’t come much more knowledgeable about Cuban spying than retired Lt. Col. Chris Simmons.

South Korea unveiled a new 15-year power supply plan Wednesday that calls for the construction of two new nuclear reactors to meet the country's growing demand for electricity.

Under the so-called basic plan for power supply, the country will build two new nuclear reactors by 2029, bringing the total number of nuclear reactors here to 36, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The country currently operates 24 nuclear reactors, with 10 others that are or will soon be under construction.

The decision to build two new nuclear reactors comes as the country's overall use of electricity is expected to increase by an annual average of 2.2 percent over the next 15 years, reaching 656,883 gigawatt-hours by 2029, with its peak demand expected to reach 111,929 megawatts, compared with 80,154 megawatts in 2014.

The ministry said such estimates still reflected an aggressive plan to cut the country's annual use of electricity and peak demand by 14.3 percent and 12 percent, respectively, from their business-as-usual (BAU) levels by 2029.

"The goal is to reduce the increase in peak demand for power by 1 million kilowatts (1,000 megawatts) each year over the next 15 years, limiting the overall rise of peak demand by 2029 to 111,929 megawatts, instead of 127,229 megawatts," it said in a press release.

The latest power supply plan also partly reflects the government's ambitious plan, announced at the end of last month, to cut the country's greenhouse gas emissions by 37 percent from its BAU levels by 2030.

To this end, the government has withdrawn its plan to build four new coal-fired power plants under the sixth power supply plan.

This will lower the proportion of fossil fuels in the country's overall power sources to 32.3 percent by 2029 from 34.7 percent under the sixth power supply plan.
