AL QUEDA FIGHTING REBELS IN SYRIA ATTACKING A CHRISTIAN VILLAGE AS THE SYRIAN GOVERNMENT PROTECTS THE VILLAGE OF MAALOULA–THE VILLAGE WITH THE ANCIENT CUSTOM LINK OF ARAMAIC THE PRESUMED LANGUAGE OF JOSHUA

“God have mercy on Syria,” sang the congregation at the Cathedral of Our Lady of Dormition in Damascus this weekend. But miles away, in a historic village nestled on the slopes of the Qalamoun Mountains north of the Syrian capital, there was little sign of any mercy.

Latest reports from Syrian opposition groups on Sunday said rebels – including militants from the al Qaeda-linked Jabhat al-Nusra group – have gained control of Maaloula, a Christian village famed for preserving its ancient customs – including Aramaic, the presumed language of Jesus.

Declining security and restrictions on the independent media make it difficult to verify reports from the isolated village. But Sunday’s accounts came days after Maaloula residents confirmed that a number of rebel brigades had entered the village on Wednesday.

"This highlights the fears of the Christian community here in Syria." - FRANCE 24's Lucy Fielder reporting from Damascus.

By Friday, Maaloula residents told FRANCE 24 the rebels had withdrawn from the village, which clings precariously to a dramatic mountain ridge northeast of Damascus.

But by Sunday, fighters from Jabhat al-Nusra, backed by another group, the Qalamoun Liberation Front, moved into Maaloula after heavy clashes with the army, according to Rami Abdulrahman of the London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

“Regime forces entered Maaloula, where snipers were already positioned. They made propaganda videos, which were then broadcast by pro-regime media,” explained Abdulrahman in an interview with FRANCE 24. “In response to this provocation, rebel fighters stormed Maaloula. Army troops then left the town and positioned themselves around it.”

Reporting from Damascus, FRANCE 24’s Lucy Fielder said that while it was difficult to confirm reports that rebels had taken full control of the village, “a [Syrian] government source told us there was indeed fierce fighting this morning and that the rebels were led by Jabhat al-Nusra.”

The isolated village of Maaloula is not a particularly strategic site, according to analysts, but it has a symbolic value.

“The army is seen by the Christians as their protector against the extremist parts of the Islamic opposition,” explained Fielder. “So, the army’s not likely to just leave it in the hands of Jabhat al-Nusra. I think we can expect to see much more fighting and perhaps for this to become more of a battleground in the coming days.”

THE REAL ISSUE IS NOT OVER THERE BUT OVER HERE IN THE HOME FRONT WITH THE BHO OBAMACARE CURTAILING ECONOMIC GROWTH AND JOBS CREATION FROM SMALL BUSINESSES WHICH IS THE JOB CREATION ENGINE SPUTTERING DUE TO THE POTUS WHO HAS NO BUSINESS SENSE WHATSOEVER–WHILST THE BHO COVERS UP THE PROBLEMS AT HOME WITH A WAR IN SYRIA

Conservatives will take their defund-ObamaCare push back to Washington, D.C., this week with an event to rally support and combat a wide shift in focus away from the issue.

Sens. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and a slew of House members and Tea Party leaders will host a rally Tuesday to pressure leaders not to pay for healthcare reform in the next bill to fund the government.

The anti-funding movement, which dominated headlines at the beginning of the summer, has not gained enough support to assure victory as Congress enters a series of fiscal negotiations over the next two months.

To the contrary, Republican congressional leaders remain non-committal and chatter in Washington has been consumed for the last week with the debate over whether the U.S. military should intervene in Syria's civil war.

Tea Party supporters also face a tough break with the scheduling of their rally, the most prominent in a series of August events across the country highlighting criticisms of ObamaCare.

THE HYPOCRITES OF HOLLYWOOD IS MUM THAT THEIR BHO IS READY TO GO TO WAR IN SYRIA–ITS NOTHING MORE THAN POLITICAL WITH THEM HOODY’S–FROM THE LIKES OF BRUCE SPRINGSTEIN, SUSAN SARANDON, GEORGIE CLONEYS, SEAN LEFTY PENNY AND ON AND ON

If you’re looking for left-wing celebrity push back remotely close to what transpired over the war in Iraq (i.e., when Barack Obama was not commander-in-chief of the United States armed forces), you might have a long wait:

  • Bruce Springsteen on Twitter since Aug. 1 talks about his tour and one free show to end poverty…but nothing about Syria.
  • Susan Sarandon on Twitter since Aug. 1 mentions sex slavery, violence against children, the value of pot, why prison for drug offenders is bad. And while she campaigns to help Syrian child refugees, she has nothing to say about Obama’s desire to bomb it.
  • George Clooney was recently asked about a possible U.S. intervention in Syria, and the actor replied, “I actually thought you would ask me about Ben Affleck playing Batman. But no, it’s Syria.” Clooney proceeded to deflect the question.
  • Sean Penn…zip.
  • Janeane Garofalo…nada.
  • Tim Robbins…hello?

But one devoutly liberal actor is going off script, you might say, and speaking out…and he has a theory about why fellow thespians and others in the limelight who share his political leanings have been largely mum on Syrian intervention.

“A lot of people don’t want to feel anti-black by being opposed to Obama,” Ed Asner tells The Hollywood Reporter.

WITH THE BREAKOUT OF PREDATORY FEMALE TEACHERS IN THE NEA RUN SCHOOL SYSTEM GOING AFTER OUR CHILDREN SEXUAL INNOCENCE, ALL THE SCHOOL BOARD CAN DO IS GIVE A STRICT DRESS CODE FOR ITS OUT OF CONTROL SOICIETAL MINDED TEACHERS–LIKE TO WEAR UNDERWEAR

When was the last time you heard of a public school teacher needing a reminder to don underwear before entering the classroom?

Apparently that question, among other bodily garment observations, has been an issue at the school district in Little Rock, Ark., which has announced plans for a teacher dress code that reads more like a riot act for inappropriately dressed teenagers, the Daily Caller notes.

For starters, the Aug. 29 letter from the Little Rock School District’s Office of the Superintendent to all employees explains that pesky underwear rule:

“Foundational garments shall be worn and not visible with respect to color, style, and/or fabric. No see-through or sheer clothing shall be allowed, and no skin shall be visible between pants/trousers, skirts, and shirts/blouses at any time.”

And as for what’s banned starting in 2014?

  • T-shirts, patches, and other clothing containing slogans for beer, alcohol, drugs, gangs or sex.
  • Cut-off jeans with ragged edges, cut-out dresses and spaghetti-straps if teachers aren’t wearing at least two layers.
  • Jogging suits, mini-skirts, halter tops, backless or sheer dresses.
  • “Casual T-shirts” — faded, sheer, out of shape, inappropriately sized.
  • Flip-flops.
