Usama bin Laden is dead, multiple sources confirm to Fox News.

President Obama is expected to deliver a statement from the White House Sunday night to discuss the major development.

The controversy over airport pat-downs by the Transportation Security Administration has spread to children. After seeing video footage of a 6-year-old girl being patted down by a TSA official as her mother protested, Rep. Jason Chaffetz, R-Utah, has decided to do something about it, The Hill reports.

He offered a bill to forbid TSA officers from conducting pat-downs on minors without parental consent.

"I am personally outraged and disgusted by yet another example of mistreatment of an innocent American at the hands of TSA," Chaffetz wrote in a letter to the agency. "This conduct is in clear violation of TSA's explicit policy not to conduct thorough pat-downs on children under the age of 13."

Chaffetz is chairman of the Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee on National Security.

According to ABC News, the TSA defended the pat-down but said it is looking into how it might change the screening system:

The TSA said it has reviewed the tape and that the “officer followed proper current screening procedures.“ They added they ”are exploring additional ways to focus its resources and move beyond a one-sized-fits-all system.”


“We struggle to teach our kids to protect themselves, to say ‘no, it’s not ok to touch me in this way in this area,” the girl’s mother, Selena, said. “Yet here we are saying it’s ok for these people.”
According to her, she asked for alternatives but was denied: “I did ask for alternatives, I asked for her to be rescanned. They just refused and said they were going to do what they were going to do.”
The girl’s father, Todd, says the pat-down sends mixed message:

“Initially she was just confused,” Todd Drexel said. “She really didn’t understand what she had done wrong.” He said he and his wife struggled with how to explain to their child what had happened after teaching her previously it was not ok to be touched in certain places. “Now she’s been pat down in a public setting, in an airport.”

A Mississippi state judge has issued an order to public school attendance officers in his judicial district to provide the names of all homeschoolers there, prompting alarm at the Home School Legal Defense Association, which fights for the rights of homeschooling worldwide.
The order apparently is because the judge himself wants the information, as there appeared to be no case, motion or dispute prompting the request.
The HSLDA, which was alerted by its members in the 13th Chancery Court district in Mississippi, where Judge Joe Dale Walker issued the order, immediately sought and obtained a stay of the order from the state Supreme Court.

The judge's order noted that the "cause" for the order "came on for hearing on the court's own motion," but the HSLDA said apparently no hearing ever was held – and the order is the only document in the court file.

This is an almost exact reversal of the situation in 1960, when there were 15 million workers in manufacturing and 8.7 million collecting a paycheck from the government.

It gets worse. More Americans work for the government than work in construction, farming, fishing, forestry, manufacturing, mining and utilities combined. We have moved decisively from a nation of makers to a nation of takers. Nearly half of the $2.2 trillion cost of state and local governments is the $1 trillion-a-year tab for pay and benefits of state and local employees. Is it any wonder that so many states and cities cannot pay their bills?
Every state in America today except for two—Indiana and Wisconsin—has more government workers on the payroll than people manufacturing industrial goods. Consider California, which has the highest budget deficit in the history of the states. The not-so Golden State now has an incredible 2.4 million government employees—twice as many as people at work in manufacturing. New Jersey has just under two-and-a-half as many government employees as manufacturers. Florida’s ratio is more than 3 to 1. So is New York’s.
Even Michigan, at one time the auto capital of the world, and Pennsylvania, once the steel capital, have more government bureaucrats than people making things. The leaders in government hiring are Wyoming and New Mexico, which have hired more than six government workers for every manufacturing worker.

WISCONSIN STATE SUPREME JUDGE UP FOR RE-ELECTION APRIL 5th - AN EXTENSION OF THE FIGHT FOR STATE RIGHTS

Last November, for the first time in a long time, Wisconsin voters went to the polls and gave Republicans control of the assembly, senate, and governorship.

Wisconsin is a vital swing state for Obama. In 2008 he won the state by an impressive margin, but 2010 saw a sea change in the state’s electorate that created a tidal wave in favor of Republicans, a tidal wave that could extend to 2012 and cost the president his re-election.

Based on an absurd procedural technicality, a left-wing judge in Madison has already halted the collective bargaining portion of Governor Walker’s bill from being put into law and an appeals court has already passed on making a ruling and kicked it up to the State Supreme Court. And this is just the beginning of judicial meddling and overreach into legislative matters that — unlike forcing the American people to purchase something — has no constitutional issue that requires any sort of adjudication.

The Left’s firewall, as it always is with leftists unable to win at the voting booth, is the courts. And on April 5th, State Supreme Court Justice David Prosser is up for re-election. Prosser is a reliable 4 to 3 tie-breaking vote in favor of judicial restraint on a court that’s just one vote away from exploding into a frenzy of left-wing judicial activism. The one vote on the horizon willing to overturn every piece of Walker’s agenda — including the end of collective bargaining reform — is Joanne Kloppenburg, Prosser’s left-wing opponent.




I’m unaware of any polling on this race so I turned to Charlie Sykes, a talk radio leader in Wisconsin (you should be listening to) and Big Government contributor. He’s on the ground there and understands the story (and stakes) as well as anyone. Here’s his disconcerting but undoubtedly accurate lay of the land:

I think it will be close: the left is engaged and enraged. We conservatives are engaged. Don’t know about the independents. This is a traditionally very low turnout election and if the unions turn out their troops, there might be enough votes to flip the court. But no one on our side is complacent about this. We understand that, as you say, it is for all the marbles.

This will turn on how the race is defined: if voters decide based on credentials: Prosser wins; if they see it as a choice between a liberal and a conservative judge, Prosser wins; if it turns on who is tough on crime, Prosser wins.

But, if it is seen as a referendum on Walker or the union bill, Kloppenburg has a very real shot.

This in a state where a sitting State Supreme Court Justice losing a re-election bid is nearly as rare as Halley’s Comet. This in a state that just 4 months ago (feels like years) voted overwhelmingly for Republican rule.

One, that government workers contribute half of the cost of their pensions. Ask anyone you know who works for private enterprise how much their company contributes to their retirement, would you? The highest I’ve heard is a matching contribution of 25 percent to a 401(k). The more common response was a laugh.
Two, that government workers pay for 12 percent of their health-insurance premiums. Or to put it another way, that the State can go from paying 100 percent to just 88 percent. Does anyone out there who is not sucking at the government teat have a deal this sweet?
Three, that government unions no longer be allowed to use collective bargaining to argue for pensions and other benefits. In this context, “collective bargaining” means “I ain’t gonna do what you want. And I’ll bust the skull of anyone else you hire to do it.”
Four, that the State will stop forcibly collecting union dues from its employees and turning the money over to union bosses. Union dues would become — gasp! — voluntary. No wonder the union leaders are quaking in their boots.
Five, the unions would be forced to let their members vote every year on whether they wanted to continue to be represented by the union. Can you imagine bringing democracy to rank-and-file union members? What an un-American idea! (Oh, wait, I think I got that wrong.)

Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) took to the Senate floor Thursday to defend labor unions, saying that dictators like Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin opposed them.

Brown said that unions have wrongly come under attack from Republicans and conservatives, who are pitting workers against one another in states like his, where governments are taking action on anti-union legislation. The Senate on Wednesday fell short by two votes of passing a non-binding "sense of the Senate" resolution calling on Congress to pass a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

Giving Transportation Security Administration agents a peek under your clothes may soon be a practice that goes well beyond airport checkpoints. Newly uncovered documents show that as early as 2006, the Department of Homeland Security has been planning pilot programs to deploy mobile scanning units that can be set up at public events and in train stations, along with mobile x-ray vans capable of scanning pedestrians on city streets.

A new report out Monday from Moody’s Analytics economist Mark Zandi estimates that the House-passed seven-month spending bill, which cuts $61 billion in spending, would cost 700,000 jobs by the end of 2012.

He predicts that this year the bill could cost 400,000 jobs and run the risk of a new recession.

A spokesman for House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) discredited Zandi.
"The fact that a relentless cheerleader for the failed 'stimulus' - which the Democrats who run Washington claimed would keep unemployment below eight percent - refuses to understand that ending the spending binge will help the private sector create jobs is sad, but not surprising," said Boehner  spokesman Michael Steel.

The Senate on Tuesday voted 86-12 Tuesday to extend the Patriot Act for three months. The vote came one day after the House passed legislation extending the Patriot Act until Dec. 2011. Due to an amendment tacked on to the House bill by Senate leaders Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) earlier Tuesday the Senate version of the bill only extends the Patriot Act until May 27, 2011.

The bill is H.R. 514, which would let the government access business records, conduct roving wiretaps, and monitor individual terrorists until Dec. 8 of this year.

Two TSA agents were busted today at Kennedy Airport for stealing $160,000 in cash from bags, authorities said.
Davon Webb, 30, and Couman Perad, who turned 36 today, were arrested after admitting they had regularly stolen from checked bags, sources said.
In one instance, Perad, who joined the Transportation Security Administration in 2002, and Webb, who has been an agent since 2004, stole $39,000 on Jan. 30 from a bag at Terminal 8, sources said.

On Friday February 11, the day Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak stepped down, CBS correspondent Lara Logan was covering the jubilation in Tahrir Square for a “60 Minutes” story when she and her team and their security were surrounded by a dangerous element amidst the celebration. It was a mob of more than 200 people whipped into frenzy.
In the crush of the mob, she was separated from her crew. She was surrounded and suffered a brutal and sustained sexual assault and beating before being saved by a group of women and an estimated 20 Egyptian soldiers. She reconnected with the CBS team, returned to her hotel and returned to the United States on the first flight the next morning. She is currently in the hospital recovering.
There will be no further comment from CBS News and correspondent Logan and her family respectfully request privacy at this time.

IN THE DAYS OF OVERSPENDING AND DEBT EXPANSION OBAMA SAYS "LET THEM EAT MORE CAKE"

WASHINGTON -- President Obama is sending Congress a $3.73 trillion spending blueprint that pledges $1.1 trillion in deficit savings over the next decade through spending cuts and tax increases.
Obama's new budget projects that the deficit for the current year will surge to an all-time high of $1.65 trillion.

The president's projected $1.65 trillion deficit for the current year would be the highest dollar amount ever, surpassing the $1.41 trillion deficit hit in 2009. It would also represent 10.8 percent of the total economy, the highest level since the deficit stood at 21.5 percent of gross domestic product in 1945, reflecting heavy borrowing to fight World War II.

The president's 2012 budget projects that the deficits will total $7.21 trillion over the next decade with the imbalances never falling lower below $607 billion, a figure that would still exceed the previous deficit record before Obama took office of $458.6 billion in 2008, President George W. Bush's last year in office.

In the energy area, the budget would support Obama's goal of putting 1 million electric vehicles on the road by 2015 and doubling the nation's share of electricity from clean energy sources by 2035.
The budget proposes program terminations or spending reductions for more than 200 programs at an estimated savings of $33 billion in 2012. Programs targeted for large cuts included Community Development Block Grants, trimmed by $300 million, while a program that helps pay heating bills for low-income families would be cut in half for a savings of $2.5 billion while a program supporting environmental restoration of the Great Lakes would be reduced by one-fourth for $125 million in savings.


The administration will also propose saving $100 billion from Pell Grants

The budget will propose $1 billion in cuts in grants for large airports, almost $1 billion in reduced support to states for water treatment plants and other infrastructure

Another $62 billion in savings would be devoted to paying to prevent cuts in payments to doctors in the Medicare program

Obama's budget would also raise $46 billion over 10 years by eliminating various tax breaks to oil, gas and coal companies.

FYI there was a closed door meeting recently under the guise of discussions on Egypt.  That meeting did not involve Egypt much if at all.  This information is relayed second hand but I believe it to be completely reliable.  Source told that meeting was run by Jarrett from start to end.  Obama said very little.  Asked no questions.  The primary focus was how to protect Obamacare so it was not a “liability” in 2012 campaign.  White House already spending significant time/resources preparing legal argument for the Supreme Court case that is coming.  Second focus was apparently “birther” related.

People are discussing whether or not you are actually eligible to run for re-election in 2012 and you don’t say a word on the subject?  “He just sat there with a weird little smile and didn’t say anything.”  Go ahead and print that quote word for word.  Others are now willing to let their observations be more known.  Concern for the country is now winning over concern for their own political interests.  Finally.
As stated before, Geithner is leaving.  That was repeated to me again this past week.

U.S. gasoline prices have jumped to the highest levels ever for the middle of February. The national average hit $3.127 per gallon on Friday, about 50 cents above a year ago.

The price is about 6 percent higher than on this date in 2008. The next day, pump prices began a string of 32 gains over 34 days. They rose 39 percent over five months, eventually hitting an all-time high of $4.11 per gallon in July.

The continuing resolution funding the government after March 4 cuts deeply across all areas of domestic spending and singles out many programs for complete elimination.
